中国机械总院集团云南分院有限公司创建于1977年11月，是中国机械总院集团下属二级单位，中央驻滇科研院所。主要开展机械、自动化、数控、精密测量、装备制造业CAD/CAPP/PDM/CAM/CAE/MES、制造业信息化等专题和应用研究；从事机电一体化产品研发、设计，机械产品全面性能试验、检测及司法鉴定；承担工业与民用建筑工程项目的可行性论证、项目规划、施工设计，工业园区设计；提供定制及成套专用设备设计、工艺、生产线整体解决方案；开展智能制造技术、制造业信息技术、“两化融合”技术研究及应用、咨询服务。

云南院紧密结合发展形势和现实需求，紧抓战略机遇期，不断凝炼学科方向，优化科研结构，拥有一批“光、机、电、计算机”技术复合型研究应用人才，技术人员专业覆盖机械设计与制造、机械测试、模具设计及制造、工业自动化、计算机技术与应用、信息工程、机电一体化等多学科领域，形成了工程分析、检测测试、机电一体化产品研发及产业化、制造业信息化等四个创新团队。云南院是国家高新技术企业、省级企业技术中心，建有国际ilac MRA CNAS认可实验室、国家技术转移示范机构、国家工信部“两化融合管理体系贯标咨询服务机构”、国家工信部“服务型制造示范平台”、云南省院士工作站。

机械工业机床产品质量检测中心(昆明)、云南省机械设备产品质量监督检验站、云南省机电一体化应用技术重点实验室、云南省先进制造技术研究中心、云南省机械设备产品质量控制和技术评价实验室、云南省装备制造业生产力促进中心、云南省工业机器人应用工程技术研究中心、云南省机械科技情报所、云南省机械工程学会等行业机构设在云南院。

是中国制造业知识服务联盟理事、全国智能制造发展联盟成员、中国机械制造工艺协会理事、全国金属切削机床标准化委员会钻镗床分技术委员会委员、全国金属切削机床标准化委员会铣床分技术委员会委员。

Machinery Industry Machine Tool Product Quality Testing Center (Kunming), Yunnan Machinery and Equipment Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station, Yunnan Key Laboratory of Mechatronics Applied Technology, Yunnan Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Center, Yunnan Machinery and Equipment Product Quality Control and Technology Evaluation Laboratory, Yunnan Equipment Manufacturing Productivity Promotion Center, Yunnan Industrial Robot Applied Engineering Technology Research Center, Yunnan Machinery Science and Technology Information Institute, Yunnan Mechanical Engineering Society and other industrial institutions are located in our institute.

We act as a director of China Manufacturing Knowledge Service Alliance, a member of National Intelligent Manufacturing Development Alliance, a director of China Machinery Manufacturing Technology Association, a member of Drilling and Boring Sub-technical Committee of National Metal Cutting Machine Standardization Committee, and a member of Milling Sub-technical Committee of National Metal Cutting Machine Standardization Committee.

Our Institute will uphold the concept of "serving enterprises, industries and government", which has existed for more than 40 years, "based in Yunnan, serving southwest and radiating south Asia and southeast Asia", and act as a role of public welfare central enterprise" for regional economic development and "the belt and road initiative". Finally, we will create a "Centennial Science and Technology Group" for the General Institute and form a "National Strategic Science and Technology Force" and write a fantastic chapter in Yunnan.
